Mesopotamia

LOCATION:

Mesopotamia is between the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers. It starts from the tip of the Persian Gulf to the beggining  of the Taurus Mountains.

CLIMATE:

The Temperatures are usually over 110 degrees F and it also has an temperate rainfall.

SITES:

Euphrates River:

This river is the southern border  line of Mesopotamia on the map. It starts from the Zagros mountains and then coonnects in with the Tigris River and goes in to the Persian Gulf.

Tigris River:

This river is the northern boder line of Mesopotamia on the map. It also starts from the Zagros mountains and then connects in with the Euphrates River and goes in to the Persian Gulf.

Zagros Mountains:

This mountain range is north of Mesopotamia on the map. It starts from the Euphrates River to the Persian Gulf.

Taurus Mountains:

This mountain range is north-west of Mesopotamia. It stats from the west part of the Asia Minor to the Euphrates River.

Mediterranean Sea:

This sea is west of Mesopotamia, it starts from Mesopotamia to the Iberian Penninsula. 

Persian Gulf:

This gulf is south-east of Mesopotamia on the map. Its from Mesopotamia and goes into the Arbian Sea.

Ziggurats:

A structure that the Sumerians built to allow thier gods to come down to earth. It was also the center of worship, and was in every city.


Babylon:

The Babylonian Empire's center city around 1700 B.C. It was also the crossrode of trade during that time.


Nineveh:

The Assyrian Empire's capitial around 640 B.C.

When the Assyrians weren't winning a war the Assyrian King fought lions to show his skills and bravery.
